In order to acquire the competences, abilities and personal skills required at doctoral level, doctoral training includes the completion by students of training activities in addition to the doctoral thesis. Our programme includes compulsory training activities, namely:
10 hours of dedication to the proposals made within training activity 1, Training seminars (Participation in seminars and/or conferences organised by the PhD student's own research group or team, by other research groups, by a department or centre, by the Doctoral School, etc., in which external and internal guest researchers speak).
30 hours of dedication to the proposals made within training activity 2, Methodological, specialised or practical training courses (these are courses in basic research methodology for the main lines of research of the programme, focusing on the development of an appropriate use of methodological and practical resources in the search for scientific information, in obtaining, processing and analysing data and in the presentation of results).
10 hours of participation in the activities derived from training activity 3, Meetings to monitor research projects, work and/or results (participation in periodic meetings for the presentation and discussion of research results, the proposal of new working hypotheses and the design of experiments; the PhD student will be asked to present to the other participants in this activity, at least twice from the second year of enrolment in the PhD programme, the development of their research and an advance of the results obtained).
20 hours of dedication to the proposals derived from training activity 4, Attendance at national and international conferences. The criterion is to attend at least one national or international congress or scientific meeting during the three or five years of the doctoral programme and to present an oral or poster presentation of the work carried out in the development of the doctoral thesis.
At least one contribution related to the doctoral thesis that meets one of the criteria of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) for the recognition of research work in the area of knowledge in which the thesis is being carried out (article, book chapter, book or monograph, patent, etc.). The date of acceptance of this contribution must be within the period in which the student has been enrolled in the doctoral studies (If it is not yet published at the time of deposit of the thesis, the acceptance will be accredited by a letter from the editor or editorial board). Please note that a publication by two or more doctoral students will only be valid to support one thesis.
Articles, books and book chapters are valid. The article must be published in a journal indexed in one of the lists below, at the rank specified. Electronic journals will be subject to the same criteria as other journals.
